Blasted Broccoli

In Seattle, there is a trendy restaurant called the Black Bottle. I went once with a bunch of folks and we shared everything. One of the best meals of my life! And fortunately, I was able to track down they’re recipe! I’m not a big veggie person, so for me to most remember the broccoli from a foodie’s dream meal should really tell you something :)

Blasted Broccoli 

1 1/4 lb broccoli, cut into florets (about 8 cups)
3 1/2 T extra virgin olive oil, divided
2 garlic cloves, minced
couple large pinches of crushed red pepper
kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper

Preheat oven to 450.

Toss broccoli and 3 T oil in large bowl to coat. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Transfer to rimmed baking sheet. Roast 5min. Stir remaining 1/2 T oil, garlic, and red pepper in small bowl. Drizzle garlic mixture over broccoli; toss to coat. Roast until broccoli is beginning to brown, ~6-8 min longer. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve immediately.
